Nian Technologies has come a long way from where it all started. Fourteen years ago (2010), it was just myself and a laptop, fresh back in Australia after some years working in the Middle East. I was looking for projects that did more than just fill time – I wanted work that pushed boundaries, made a difference, and solved real problems. It wasn’t long before I found myself partnering with clients who shared that same hunger for impactful, meaningful software development.
My background is in the trenches of coding and software design, with over 20 years spent building things from the ground up. I know what it’s like to write the code, manage the teams, and navigate the unexpected challenges that come with software projects. That’s what I bring to the table – a genuine understanding of the craft, and the ability to build the right teams and set up the right processes to deliver quality solutions.
The game changed in 2013, when we partnered with Levarti to create software for the airline industry. We built systems that transformed passenger experiences and streamlined operations – no small feat in such a complex environment. That success opened doors to bigger ventures and led to co-founding Bottletop, a company focused on bespoke software development. We had a great run, building niche solutions across industries like IoT, recruitment, and waste management with a talented in-house team, including a setup in Jakarta and developers in Ukraine.
Then came the pandemic, which, like for many, forced us to adapt. We closed the Jakarta office and shifted gears, diving deeper into supporting startups and SMEs. Our focus became clear: help new ventures get off the ground, whether that’s through rapid prototyping, launching, or scaling their development capabilities. At the same time, we’ve also been working with established businesses to sharpen their software development, improve processes, and elevate their technical roadmaps.
Today, Nian Technologies is all about collaboration and partnerships. We’ve linked up with leading outsourcing firms in Vietnam, top local developers, and even formed a strategic alliance with Haystack Capital to bring startup ideas from concept to reality. The approach is straightforward: leverage the right expertise at the right time to drive growth and make software that matters.

I’m not just interested in talking strategy; I’m about getting things done, combining hands-on experience with a clear vision. Whether you’re a startup trying to find your footing or an SME looking to scale up, Nian Technologies is here to guide you through every step, from the initial idea to your next breakthrough.
